Brenda O’Sullivan has lived in College View, Old Youghal Road, Cork, since April 2005. Brenda said the past 21 years were her happiest in Religious Life.
On the Ist of July we celebrated her 100th Birthday. Brenda is a proud Kerry woman and was delighted to celebrate such a significant birthday.
The day started with a sung Mass in Our Lady Crowned Church, after which she received the Papal Blessing, and a beautiful bouquet of flowers from the Parish Council. Later, she had a visit from the Lord Mayor of Cork, Damian Boylan, and the retired Bishop of Cork, Bishop John Buckley. The house was open to welcome family, neighbours and friends, who came from far and wide to congratulate Brenda. We had the joy to celebrate her life, which was given in loving service, and compassion to so many people. It was a day we will remember.
Brenda, loves to play Scrabble, and this game surely helps to keep her mind alert and active. She is a challenge to us who play with her, as she wins 98% of the time.
