Vocations
Vowed Ministry:
A vocation is an invitation; it is a call from the Spirit to do a specific type of ministry.
For us Little Sisters it is to the Family.
We take three vows, poverty as solidarity, celibacy as living fraternally and obedience as seeking the will of God individually and collectively. We live together in apostolic community which can be:
- fulfilling,
- spiritually enriching,
- socially meaningful
- challenging.
Our Community Life, takes its inspiration from the life of the first Christian communities and from the Augustinian tradition “Be of one mind and heart in God” (Rule of Life no 21)
“My God Unite All Minds In Truth And All Hearts In Charity”
Prayer of our Founder Etienne Pernet
Spirituality:
At its heart is the mystery of Jesus, “the servant” sent by the Father who laid down His life to save human kind and gather them together as one people.
Eurcharist;
The Eucharist is at the centre of our lives and our Communities. The breaking of bread carries with it an obligation to share with all who hunger for bread and for justice-there is a very close link between our mission, our community life and the Eucharist (Rule of Life no 11)
The Church :
“Never isolate yourself, pray with the whole Church in the name of Jesus Christ” (Fr E.Pernet)
As members of God’s people we are at its service working as women, religious and apostles to announce the Gospel. By living our Charism to the full we contribute to the vitality of the Church.
